Fine Art Landscape Photography
What's New?
GOING DEEPER
"Going Deeper" describes our latest attempt at the gallery to transcend the literal constraints of photography and explore more interpretive presentations.
For this show, opening on September 17th, we've chosen media that complement each of four different images: satin fabric for spring, canvas panels for summer, ash wood veneer for autumn and aluminum panels for a winter scene.
It was the advent of the large-format nature photography book in the 1970's, most notably the Sierra Club book that paired Eliot Porter photographs with selections from Thoreau's journals, that provided the first clue there may be more to a color nature photo than meets the eye.
Since then, and following in the manner of Porter, we've tried to do more than simply document the landscape photographically. This latest effort, printing images on a variety of alternative media, is simply one more step away from representative landscape photography and towards the expressionistic.
We invite you to stop by when you're in the neighborhood to check out these new works, which we expect to have on display through the fall -- hope to see you at the gallery!
